1 Description It occurs as cream-colored powder.
2 Identification
Test (A)
(A) A firm, rubbery gel forms with the sample after the temperature drops below 40°, but no such gel forms with the Control.
3 Solubility It is soluble in hot or cold water.
4 Arsenic Not more than 3 µg/g.
5 Lead Not more than 5 µg/g.
6 Limit of isopropyl alcohol Not more than 0.075%.
7 Pyruvic acid Not less than 1.5% of pyruvic acid.
8 Loss on drying Not more than 15.0%.
9 Ash Between 6.5% to 16.0%, calculated on dried basis.
10 Carbon Dioxide Between 4.2% to 5.0%.
11 Assay Not less than 91.0% and not more than 108.0% of xanthan gum.

PACKAGING

MOLGUM™ X is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside and is provided with a barcoded label and a tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. It is stored in a tightly closed container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
